ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

 

Juneau, AK / Temp to Hire, Long-term temp, FT / $18.00 to $22.00 P/Hr. DOE

We have an excellent job opening for a Full-time Administrative Assistant that we are trying to fill for a local mining client. The position will split time between an office in Juneau and an office located at the Kensington Mine.

The position requires staying overnight at the Kensington mine for many weeks at a time, you will be working 12 hours per day, followed by a full week off. Your lodging and meals at the mine will be provided to you for free. The pay range is $18.00 to $22.00 P/Hr and overtime would be 1.5 times your regular base pay. This is a temp to hire position, which means after 3-4 months you might be converted by the client and become a permanent long-term employee for them.

This position does require an MSHA Certification, however, after working with the client they have agreed that if you do not currently have this certification it can be arranged for you to take the class for 3 days prior to starting the job and thereby secure the certification prior to starting work at the mine. The projected start date for this job is ASAP and will depend somewhat on when the certification class can be completed.

Duties:

This position is in an office setting answering incoming calls and greeting visitors in a courteous and professional manner and completing other office support related tasks, including assisting with payroll and accounting related tasks. Provide information or transfer calls quickly and efficiently to the proper person and/or department. Relay phone messages in an accurate and punctual manner. Other office duties as assigned such as making copies, faxing and/or scanning large documents, coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, and scheduling appointments. Collection of other employee hours. Imputing hours in online payroll system. Other duties as required.

Both are required to work on mine site.
