AKHIRE is currently recruiting for the following position:

  • Type of Assignment: Temp to Hire
  • Title: Service Tech/Mechanic
  • Employees Needed: 1
  • Duration: Spring of 2018, but for the right person you can be converted to perm for this client.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Location: Anchorage, Alaska
  • Pay Range: $19-26.00 per hour as a temp DOE, if converted additional pay and full benefits possible
  • Duties: Check and communicate oil level to other Teammates. Routine oil maintenance such as oil changes, check batteries and lubing trucks/machinery as well as tightening bolts, screws and attached system components. Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation. Inspect and refill/change fluid levels as necessary. Install new drain plugs and oil filters as well as replace any malfunctioning components, parts or other mechanical or electrical equipment. Disassemble & reassemble equipment and parts. Read and interpret diagnostic test results using dials, gauges and other computer equipment. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines and other part of trucks/machinery. Generate work orders and complete service requests. Ability to properly preform DOT inspections. Ensure that your work station is clean and presentable. Other duties as assigned
  • Requirements: High school education or GED required. Certificate in Air Brake Systems. Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License preferred. One to two years of general diesel mechanic experience preferred. Transportation or freight experiences a plus. Most tasks are learned on the job. Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position
